"Best of Wearable Art"
Tempe Festival of Arts, March 2008

I create "one of a kind" clothing and accessories using different hand crafted art techniques, including knitting, dyeing, weaving, nuno and needle felting. I especially love to work with sustainable fibers such as bamboo and tencel. Before weaving or felting the fiber into fabric, I drape muslin on a dress form to get the best yield (minimum waste) as well as unique designs. My background includes both textile engineering and patternmaking. Current color and fashion trends found in fashion magazines and the internet are a source of inspiration in which I then apply these elements by blending fiber, fabric and silhouette
